How much do you charge for your services?

 Since Rays of Hope is an outreach of Hospice Midland we do not charge for the services we provide.  No child or parent is charged for attending group here at Rays of Hope.

What age kids do you serve?

We work with  children 4 years to 18 years who have suffered a loss due to death, divorce, or other painful transition.

How do I get my kids into your program?

 If you are interested in getting your child enrolled please just give us a call, email us, or stop by we would love to help you.  There is no formal referral required.

How do I volunteer at Rays of Hope?

No volunteer training is required for those seeking volunteer opportunities in the areas of arts and crafts, administrative support and cookie and cake baking. Volunteers who wish to work with children must complete Rays of Hope Volunteer Training and complete the volunteer application packet, which includes a background check and 3 positive references.

Are my kids appropriate for Rays of Hope?

 We work with children who have a loved one die, whose parents are divorced or separated, or have had some other loss.  We put children is peer support groups with other children their age who have gone through similar losses.  If you think this would be appropriate for your child give us a call and we would be happy to speak with you in further detail.

What is TOE?

TOE Classes are designed to help children learn new coping skills to address loss due to death, divorce, separation, or other painful transitions. Through the use of the arts, TOE classes focus on peer support and the expression of feelings.

Is this Counseling?

None of the services provided by Rays of Hope are counseling or therapy sessions, but utilize peer support group environments with compassionate adults to guide, listen and support children while they express their feelings and fears, sort through their confusion and begin the healing process.

Where is Rays of Hope located?

 Rays of Hope is at 900 W. Wall St.  We are on Wall street between Avenue B and C. If you are new to Midland, or need further details click here.

Do you work with kids one-on-one?

 We do not work with kids one-on-one.  We place kids in peer support groups.  We feel that by putting kids in a group with other kids their same age who have gone through similar losses that they will find that they are not the only one and will hopefully create a bond.
