History:
In the early '90's, HospiceMidland recognized the need for children's grief support in our community. After doing some research, HospiceMidland implemented RAINBOWS/Spectrum, a 12 week curriculum utilizing adult facilitators in small peer group settings. From 1992 until 2003, Rays of Hope held two RAINBOWS sessions a year and utilized a local church facility. In 2003, a family donated a building to HospiceMidland and $600,000 was obtained to make a permanent home for Rays of Hope. The new building, named Rays of Hope Children's Grief Centre, allowed HospiceMidland to expand the programs it offered as well as the number of children they served each year. |
